Show them the guy working digging ditches 12 hours a day for minimum wage to feed his family because he was too cool to go to school.

* offer to pick up a job application at McDonalds
*take them to the homeless shelter to hang out for a day
*help them research the types of jobs you can get with and with out a GED
*show them how much the cost of living is...
- be there to help them along the way

Stop supporting them....going to school was their job..it earned them the rights of a nice home, a warm bed to sleep in and nice clothes and spending money.

if it hasn't been too long since they dropped out, try to get them back in some kind of school....maybe there is a reason they hated their school....maybe they feel they just didn't fit in ....had some sort of family dysfunction in their eyes....etc.......

try an alternative school ..

it worked for my friends daughter....she hated school...told her mother so, but she didn't listen...then she started acting out...getting in trouble etc....and she dropped out....she was out 8 months...
she slept all day, laid around and watched TV or played video games, thought she could go out all night....
her mother finally said she was no longer going to support her if she wasn't in school and wouldn't work
