they cant giv themselves tickets

If a cop is not on a call should obey the rules like everybody else. I do rolling stops, even in front of cops never given a ticket. And I would fight it by putting a video camera near a stop sign that has cops pass by a lot to show the courts, for if siren or lights not flashing then technically they are not on a call, and some may be but not all. Make sure the camera can also get the car number too.

It isn't but if you don't like it you can always take the test to be a cop, pass the physical and the psych and polygraph tests then learn how to protect your life while at work every day where you have to wear a gun, duty belt and body armor. Then they will give you a car equipped with a push bumper, shotgun and radio equipment. After all that, you will be able to roll through a stop sign without getting a fine. In other words, Its not an easy job and no one is perfect so cut that poor cop some slack...he was probably headed somewhere to help someone like you.

lights and sirens are not required to be on when your going to a call. who ever told you this is crazy my law even during a traffic stop once the person is pulled over the lights should be turned off but you would have to be crazy to do that even with the flashing lights on people still find a way not to see the cop cars and hit us. so next time you see a cop do a rolling stop or run a stop sign dont listen to these fools the lack of lights and or sirens doesnt mean they arent working it doesnt mean they arent on duty and it def doesnt mean they arent going to a call!!!

Because they do a job that not everybody can do. I'm not saying that it is alright for them to do it but they wear the badge so they can get away with it. If you have a problem with it....next time you see it take the license plate down and call the PD and lodge a complaint against the officer that was driving. Just don't complain when they can't get to your house the next time you are in need of help!

Would it be ok for that cop to roll a stop sign if he was on his/her way to a 911 call at your house for a home invasion or a sexual assault in progress?
