The Military newspapers are calling for the resignation of Rumsfeld. Democrats are about to take control of the House and *perhaps* the Senate. A lot of Republicans want Rumsfeld out. Things are crumbling for Rumsfeld...how much longer can Bush keep him?

I hope so....
But the reality is, Bush actually believes what he preaches, sad really. If he fires Rumsfeld, than he is publically admitting his mistake.
Our only hope at this point, is that the voice of country is actually heard tonight.

At the current rate, the dems need to pick up 15 seats. Around the country, most are reporting about 60%. Thus far, the dems have only picked up three seats and still, all of this is subject to change. So what pray tell, does this have to do with job security for old Rummy? Nothing. Unless the president decides otherwise, you'll not force him out of office. It's not an elected position. It's an appointment. Honestly, I don't understand what all of this whining and wimpering is about. Iraq wasn't a mistake. Politically speaking, we couldn't just ignore that the UN's corruption was leaving a dictator in power to thumb his nose at the world and continue to do as he pleased. WMD? Jimmy Carter gutted the CIA making it almost impossible to get good, reliable intel -- case in point is Somalia with an Army raid gone terribly wrong. Bad intel. I should know, I'm the SOB that was called in to clean that mess up. Don't bother to thank me. So, what about the number of deaths? Any loss of life is unacceptable. But look at your history books. You DO still study history in school don't you? WW I, the casualty rate was 98,000 per month! And that went on for how long? Hmmm?! So, when the news media prints this garbage about a few being killed, think about what price they just paid so that you can sit back at your cozy little computer and shed a tear, knowing that it's happening over there instead of over here.

Rumsfeld only reports to Bush and he stated Rummy stays until 2009. I love it how liberals like you are so arrogant that you tell others to resign, when you have no way to know the story.

He will keep em until the pressure is too much and he then will find a scandal or a reason to get rid of him.

He has more lives than a cat. Our only hope is if he goes hunting with Dick Chaney.
