I think flower essences can work much better than Feliway. Depends on what behavior you want to change.

I got the room diffuser when I brought in my new cat last week. It was thirty dollars from the pet discount store, forty dollars at the vet office. I used flower essences and I think that was what made the operation go so beautifully with a bare minimum of distress among the cats.

Foster and Smith has sales on it all the time.
Iona-do some research! This is a PHEROMONE, you know, the nice smells that cause them to feel all is well in their little kitty world. It is a spray or plug in diffuser and not a medication at all.
It has helped my 5 cats live together in harmony, which has nothing to do with how much I love them and everything to do with their territorial instincts.
Or, if you want to be sarcastic-how about maybe I shouldn't have rescued those cats, although I am financially and emotionally capable of taking care of them-maybe I should have just let them be euthanized.
Please think and discover before you judge!

Wow I need this for my maniac cat. Never even thought of giving him hormones. Wonder if this would require frequent bloodwork to monitor hormone levels. And probably would not increase the risk of developing cancer. Slipping a cat hormones should be easy enough they love injections and taking pills. Of course I could take the chance of just slipping him a Valium or some Benadryl. No on second thought I will just continue providing him with stability and love he has calmed down so much comparing his behavior to what it was when I first adopted him. I still feel bad when I imagine what it must have been like to be hungry, homeless, cold and wet, with no where to go, having been thrown away when he was no longer a cute little kitten. Deal with it or find a new home for your cats. Or were you planning to take the hormones?

Doctors foster and Smith online has it and they are having a sale (25% off) through the ninth of November.

If you type in Doctors foster and smith in google, there will be some sites offering coupons for this company as well.
This product is widely available in many pet stores as well. You may want to try and get it locally, but it is usually cheaper on-line, as long as the shipping is not too unreasonable.

Petsmart usually carries it too, although it would be more expensive there.

PS It's actually PHEREMONES, not hormones. And there's nothing wrong with using it, so ignore the rude answers you've received. I've used it for my cats during stressful time periods, and it works wonders.

Ask your vet if he carries it and if he is willing to match prices. That way, you get the best of both worlds...you get the product fast and get the best price.
