6 med. apples, peeled, cored, sliced thinly
1/3 c. packed brown sugar
1/4 c. sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
Dash of cinnamon
Dutch Crumble Topping
Toss apples with sugars, salt, spice; pour into greased 9 inch pie pan. Top with Dutch Crumble Topping.
DUTCH CRUMBLE TOPPING:
1 c. butter
1 c. flour or sugar plus
1 tsp. baking soda
Mix with pastry blender until pebble-like. Take a handful of dough and press together with your palms to form small piece of dough. Arrange over apples. Use all the dough in this manner. Bake at 350 degrees for 60

1 (9 inch) deep dish pie crust

Mix 1/3 cup sugar with flour; cut in butter until crumbly. Spoon mixture over apples.
Bake in preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes, or until apples are soft and top is lightly browned.

Apple and Blackberry Crumble:
6 cups sliced peeled Rome apples (about 1 1/2 pounds)
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon water
1 cup blackberries
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
6 tablespoons chilled butter, cut into small pieces
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
Preheat oven to 350°.
Combine first 4 ingredients in a medium saucepan; cook 10 minutes over medium heat or until apples are soft. Place apple mixture in an 8-inch pie plate. Sprinkle blackberries over apple mixture.
Lightly spoon flour into dry measuring cups; level with a knife. Place flour in a medium bowl; cut in butter with a pastry blender or 2 knives until mixture resembles coarse meal. Add granulated sugar and ginger; toss well. Sprinkle flour mixture over fruit. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes or until bubbly.
Preheat broiler.
Broil crumble 1 minute or until lightly browned.
Yield: 8 servings

Homemade Apple Crumble
INGREDIENTS
6 large apple - peeled, cored and cubed
1 tablespoon white sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Crumble Topping:
1/4 cup rice flour
3 tablespoons almond meal
2 tablespoons white sugar
2 tablespoons flaked coconut
1 1/2 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Arrange apple pieces in baking dish, sprinkle with sugar, and cinnamon; toss well.
In a bowl, combine the rice flour, almond meal, sugar, and coconut. Cut in butter until mixture is fine and crumbly. Sprinkle topping over apples
Cover, and bake for 1 hour in the preheated oven, until the apples have lost their shape. Uncover, and continue to bake until crumble is crisp and golden in color.

I make this one all the time, sliced apples in a buttered baking pan, sprinkle brown sugar, half a lemon, 1 tsp cinnamon, and dabs of butter all over the apples, then get a yellow cake mix in a bowl and add 1 stick of butter cut into the cake mix, not melted, and pour over apples, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and bake for 30 mins at 350. I love this one, and you can adjust any of these ingredients.
