No one will be able to give you an accurate prognosis without doing a clinical exam and a full set of x-rays. It depends on the condition of the remaining teeth! They need to be evaluated as to whether or not they are restorable. If you have 8 teeth that are evenly distributed around the arch, and they are restorable, it may be possible to do a fixed "roundhouse" bridge and restore all of the missing teeth. If it was my mouth, I would try to save as many existing teeth that I can. Even if these teeth cannot be used for a fixed bridge, they can be used to help support a Partial Denture. The difference between a Partial Denture and a Complete Denture is that the Partial clasps onto remaining teeth for support. These are much more retentive than Complete Dentures; which rely only on suction and denture adhesive to stay in place. Go to your dentist and have a Comprehensive Exam and Full Series of x-rays completed. Your dentist will let you know the prognosis of the existing teeth, and inform you of all of your options. The more teeth that you can save, the stronger your biting force will be and the more retentive a restoration you will have! Hope that this proves helpful!

the prognosis is not great. but i would not rec having all the teeth out just for the sake of it, if you have a few stable teeth left, keep them as they do wonders for the retention of the denture ( stability) u dont want to end up with no teeth and loose dentures
good luck

I would say that dentures would be your best bet. Not only would you not have to worry about having the pain from your remaining teeth you would have a mouth full of teeth that would look good.

I would! My mother in law just got hers last year and has been so much happier ever sense. Just make sure they make sure everything fits right and that ANY realignment is included in your cost so they can't try and rip you off when you need them realigned after any swelling goes down!
This happened to her, but she is happy with the dentures.
