Ok, I have this friend who is on the "dull", "plain jane" side. She has never had a boyfriend or went out for that matter. And she is 25 yrs. old. So, she is always complaining that she wishes she had a boyfriend. Well, it's this cute guy at work, and I told her that a man isn't just gonna come knockin at her door. It's okay for a woman to make the first move. He seems like a cool guy. But I kinda think that he will turn her down. I hope not because it will crush her, then she'll begin to believe that she can't get anybody. She is gonna write him a letter tomorrow and ask him out. So my question is: Do you think she should write him and ask him out? Or do you think she is setting herself up for a big let down and might get laughed at?

plain, or bad looking? if just plain, then she probably only needing some help to show her assets - and everyone has something, even if its mostly personality. fat and nasty? sounds shallow but yeah, shell be disappointed. in that case, HELP her. workout, diet. force her to get up and do what she needs to to be attractive. youll be a real friend and shell be much more sucessful.

She know him, I mean does she talk to him from time to time? If so then I think she should go for it. But not in a letter. If she doesn't talk to him alot , she should start off with a conversation and when seems to go well, then she asks him out.

encourage her to ask in person. he will respect a personal invite more. if he turns her down explain to her that its just part of it. everyone gets shot down at least twice in life.
