Do you pay less for a trim? My stylist charges one price no matter if it takes her 20 minutes or 5 minutes. I think I pay about $33, but it keeps changing it seems. A friend of mine pays $48 - I think that's quite a bit.

I am a stylist in Las Vegas and I charge $35-40 for a haircut. Everyone needs to be aware that it is the SAME amount of work for the stylist from start to finish weather or not we cut off 1/2" or 5". The same procedure, the same partings and the same work. I hate it when I hear that term used, "Well I only want a trim." I have to mark out the same hour of time for a haircut no matter HOW much length I'm taking off. Please keep this in mind when dealing with your stylist. Another thing that I don't understand is when people want me to drop the price if they don't have it washed or if they leave with their hair wet. In a full service salon the process is shampoo/condition, cut, style....period. If the client doesn't want it styled, that's their choice but the price is still the same. If you are not interested in those services there are numerous facilities that offer these ala carte services. At the end of the day we all must use the businesses that work for our lifestyle and budget so it is insulting when people come into my place of business and treat it like it's a swap meet.

I pay $12 for a wash, cut and style and $40 when I have my hair colored (two different colors). I've also been going to the same hairdresser for almost 14 years but I do believe that is just her rate.

That is also Canadian.

What you pay is quite a bit but most likely it is being done in an actual studio? My hairdresser works alone and out of her home. I'm sure I'd pay more too for what I have done if I went to say a place in the mall.

Try looking for someone who is self-employed. They do just as well. People are always complimenting me on my hair, even strangers I meet on the street!

A trim and a haircut is almost the same. The haircut should be based on lenght and style and the hairdresser who is cutting your
hair. The location and the name of the place is also make a big
difference. Your paying just average.

OMG !! thats expensive..Well in Singapore if you go to a professional shop its quite expensive..but hey it doesn't mean that other haircut shop is not a professional hair stylist..if you go to a professional shop its cost about S$22+..and the other haircut shop its S$10..its a lot more cheaper but depend on what shop you go coz different shop has a different style of cutting..In Singapore, we don't give any tips =))...if i'm not wrong, cutting bangs is only S$2..again, depend on what shop u go to..

$18-20 at a local place in California; they are a few steps above a SuperCuts. If you have a long history/ friendship with your stylist, she should offer to touch up/trim your hair at no charge.

I guess it depends on where you go I go to a spa and it cost 55 bucks but that includes and wash scalp massage cut and style. Now if I go in town I can get a wash and cut for 18 bucks. I guess it is the same but if you are at work and ca't fix it then pay more if on the weekend I would chose the cheaper.

The hairdresser I go do charges on length.

I would say anywhere from 20-30 dollars for a decent cut at a decent place.

Thats without a tip.

Story: In one day, I bought a beautiful dress for 70 dollars. Then I only got my hair styled for 70 $...and I hated it

Moral to the story: Almost everything depends.

My suggestion: try a new salon everytime you get a haircut and see what's nicest and cheapest.

good luck!
