And all those people who used to support the war but who now realize what a mistake it is.. do they now admit they arent as smart as the rest of us?

America likes numbers and pictures. Think about what ended Vietnam - the pictures of soldiers dying and children burning. In Iraq, you have the best censorship that money can buy. But you can't hide the numbers - nearly 3000 soldiers killed. Over 20,000 injured. Some 500,000 Iraqi civilians killed.
The figures stick out for people. Then they start to see what's really happening. They start reading news sources other than the ones on FOX or CNN. They get a fuller picture. They have coffins returning to their home towns. Then it gets personal.
The bungled post-war planning is akin to criminal negligence. Someone should be held accountable.

As smart as the rest of us?? Do you enjoy living in this country? Do you enjoy freedom? If we had not gone into Iraq, the 3000 dead innocent people in New York would be a tiny fraction of the amount killed by this time. War is and always has been... it is a fact of life.

Because (1) We believed Iraq was involved in 9/11. (2) The Democrats ceded their oversight duty and made a poor job of ferreting out the truth. (3) The Republican leaning radio hosts and TV commentators did a great job of distorting the truth. (4) Us citizens played dumb and lazy, finding it more convenient to just swallow everything dished to us, hook line and sinker. (5) Religious zealots have the fire and commitment to keep shoring support for the administration.
The growing evidence of the erroneous justification for the war, the inept prosecution, and the enormous cost in terms of life and money to keep this war going, made us realize you guys are right... I was wrong.

It did take the majority of the population to see that war kills not just the enemy.
I was so against the war and protested in the street a few years ago. I had people throwing things at me and cursing me out. If you have an unpopular opinion in America, just wait a while and it will change...people are so fickle!
As an American, I appologize for that!

It didn't take long at all. The people who are against it, were never heard, until some political figures got the nerve to speak against it first. When they did, they were called unpatriotic, cowards, etc.. Now, people are braver about speaking out. Probably because so many others did so.

I don't know, man. To tell you the truth, I hated that freaking war almost from the very beginning! Many people also hated the war, but that incompetent dictator Bush has just tuned them out! It seemed the people who first supported this illegal war has been brainwashed by Bush have now turned against him. They have been double-crossed!!!!

I think the Americans got scared shitless after 9/11 which the current administartion and its theologists exploited to the fullest. Only after the Americans started getting their senses upon discovering the appalling lies that they were told to them as justification for the war that they started to realise some of what is going on.

Maybe the terrorists will come bomb your town next. Will they be such a good group of people then?
When these terrorists can come over here and take out 3000 people from every nation in one shot something needs to happen. It's just to bad that the rest of the world can't see that.
What would you suggest happen? Run with your tail between your legs in the opposite direction and go hide. That's real brave!!!!
