My son just turned 15 and that's a big issue in our house. We have told him as
long as he keeps his grades up and acts responsibly he can get his permit.
He starts drivers training in his second semester at school so he will have
to have it anyway. We have decided to write out a contract with rules he has
to follow, nothing big.He is not a morning person and is hard to get moving, sometimes he can make the morning very unpleasant. This is some-
thing he has to work on.He has to do his chores, keep his grades good and
not get into any trouble. We have told him just because he has his permit
that doesn't mean we have to allow him to drive. He's a pretty good kid so I
don't think this will be too difficult for him.So yes I think you should be allowed
to start drivers ed.That's just the way things are now. It's a little different than
when we as parents were 15 and sometimes it's hard to deal with.It means
you're growing up.

No, my experience is that 15 year olds are not mature enough to be responsible with a car.

yes, without a doubt. i taught my kids to drive when they were tall enough to see and work the pedals. they were all around 12. But you should know that although driving is fun its also a big responsibility. its not a game, you can kill someone or yourself. so be carefull and have fun.

It depends on where you live. If you're in a rural area then definately.
If you live in the city, then no way.
