Hi there...we care for pet bobcats that the owners no longer could legally have nor provide the appropriate diet or captive environment. The cats are a handful and not for the inexperienced as they are a lot of work and require special handling care. My best friend had a bobcat for several years that she raised from an orphaned kitten of about a week old. (KitKat's mom was hit by a car.) She never tamed down enough to be a good pet even though she was handled like a baby her whole life. She was very wild and very aggressive, much like she would have been in the wild. She ultimately surrendered her to a rescue, and later she was returned to the mountains.

My Friend legally owns a bobcat. He was an orphan and she obtained permission to raise him. He mostly shy's away from guest and strangers, but i've seen him being very affectionate with his owners. She also owns two Lab dogs. They have not had any problems thus far.

How many years is the question. I doubt if they had her much after she reached sexual maturity as she would have been dangerous and unmanageable. Then these creatures get dumped in sanctuaries to live their lives out in cages.

No wild animal should be kept by humans. It is their destiny to be wild and free. They have no need for human company.

Your friends are nuts! Big cats are beautiful, but they are definitely not pet material.

no, those animals need to be in the wild, so that they can breed and socialize with their own kind- they aren't pets
