Those are called tonsil stones. I also get them. Brushing your tongue very well can help prevent them. They can be formed by the bacteria on your tongue. They are very hard, so plucking them out with a q-tip won't hurt you. It may make your throat a little sore, though! It will give your breath a little pick me up if you take 'em out. :)

I'm sorry, I had to laugh at your question but I see it's authentic and serious. I have to agree with "I love Bacon" in that you need to find another dr who has . . been to medical school. That's not an answer I would be happy with ("never heard of anything like this before"). So what are you supposed to do about it? He is a doctor, he should refer you or whatever. I would try maybe an ear, nose and throat specialist. Don't go back to that md, he's a moron. I'm sorry for laughing. It was more of a giggle. I needed it. Had a rough day. Feel better! I'll pray for you.

Sounds like strep throat (caused by streptococcus).
If you really need to get rid of them, see a doctor and they can put you on antibiotics.

They're probably little wads of mouth bacteria, mucus, dead skin, and whatever else is in your mouth. You may not be able to do much about them, but I would drink lots and lots of fluids so your gunky headcold mucus is nice and thin and doesn't get stuck in your throat.

this is in fact mucous. most likely you are having post nasal drainage. try taking fenugreek an herb for sinuses, get it at your health food store. good luck
not strep not an infection these people don't know what they are talking about. perfectly safe to pick them out, in fact better to get them out so they don't cause infection.

HAHAHA!! sorry, when I read the question my mind went straight to the gutter...seriously though, you probably have a serious infection, DO NOT pick at them, and see a dr. for antibiotics.
