i know this is a stupid question, but people say that the promise ring givin to the girl has to match the one with the guy, but others say that they dont have to match, which one is it? (i'm getting my gf and i promise rings for christmas)

It's cute if they match but fine if they don't. However when they see you both wearing them and they match it's a total signal that you two are together.
