Firefox support page and forum are no help. Firefox automatically updates, and all bookmarks disappear and all settings go back to default.

I had the same problem with the last update to 2.0

I tried everything I could but to no avail.

Finally, what I did was delete Firefox using Add/Remove and then searched all Firefox and Mozilla files and folders and deleted them, and then I went into the registry and deleted all references to Firefox or Mozilla.

After I was done, I downloaded and installed 2.0 again and this time everything went just fine....bookmarks and all.

Hope this helps. If you need info on how to do all this email me.

When you say update, do you mean updating Firefox or updating extensions? I can not fix the problem but I can offer an alternative. You can try using MozBackup, a free software program, to save your Firefox profile before updating. You can restore Firefox after each update, which will restore your bookmarks. You can download MozBackup (http://mozbackup.jasnapaka.com/)

bookmarks are ur saved website that you book mark to be saved if firefox updates is making them disappear it is best if you have firefox updates switch off . hit on tools >options>advanceds. >update
check mark da., box .firefox. uncheck mark da. other 2 boxes under that . put a dot in >>ask me what to do then hit on ok .when ever firefox up with a update . hit on later to block da. update. & to tell you id not let firefox update anyway . firefox is fast . but da. firefox updates are something not to have .
