I know this is such an stupid question for an adult to ask but I just need confirmation. There is this guy that I have some classes with (university). He was all flirty with me in the beginning of the semester and kept telling me to call him on weekends but I had some things I had to deal with first so i never did. So instead of being honnest with him, i just kept telling him that i forgot and gave him many "I'm not interested signs". He was really great about it and we are still friends...however, he is starting to talk to me about this new girl he just met and about how great she is and how many things he has in common with her!!!
I should just be the supportive friend because I missed my chance right?
I mean I'm thrilled to see how happy he is but...

If you are really interested in him, tell him so. Then you can explain to him that you had personal issues that you had to deal with. You still do not have to tell him what they are. It is not like you are already dating him.
It sounds like he is still interested in you and he wants you to be jealous. That is what it sounds like, but be prepared for him to tell you that he really thinks this other girl is the one.

Being a guy, I can tell you that if you still want this guy just tell him and show him how great you can be too! He's not married to this girl is he? And even if he is, if you want it, he'll probably give it to you, just tell him you want it.
I really think that this sounds like you only want him because he is wanting someone else. You say that you had some things you had to deal with so you didn't call him. That sounds like BS to me. I don't care if you are a man or woman, if you want someone you will get busy with it. Everything else can wait. You'll put anything on hold to get what you really want.
If you do start doing him don't be surprised if at some point starts doing other women too. Not because he doesn't like you, but it's just the nature of the beast.
Besides, if you are "just friends" that are doing it it shouldn't be a big deal. Right?

Yeah, you're doing the right thing. Then, when he breaks up with his 'perfect girl' catch him on the rebound, but tell him your limits, and that you're having some things you need to deal with at the moment. but you can still be together.

yes you should be supportive you miss your chance. but if you are interested in him maybe you should tell him how you feel. then explain to him the reason why you put him off so many times

you should be the supportive friend but the question you need to ask yourself is did he make this girl up just to make you jelous or is he using this girl to make you jelous. if he really does like this girl then be a good friend.

I believe that he is just telling you this because he still likes you. I mean that is what men do when they still like you. but if you feel that he is happy then just be happy for him.
