are you married? if so he might, if he seems like the more ideal parent. [with money, job, etc.] but this is not certain. get a lawyer, and know your rights! but if you aren't married, then he has no right over the child. except of course child support! i don't like the sound of this guy, it seems as though he might be controlling and if you stay with him the relationship might turn out abusive, YOUR BABY COULD also be hurt!!!! i know it will be hard leaving him, all pregnant and stuff, but try to get a job, and see what your parents and friends are willing to do.

Most courts are leaning towards an equal shared situation with split families, your best idea would be to document everything and treat your baby as the main focus. A couples arguement can tend to cloud the actual custody fight. It wont matter if he has a million bucks, you and the child have rights, if anything he will end up spending mutli thousands of dollars to get the same result.....equal custody.

The only way he can take your child from you is by proving that the child cannot be properly cared for in your custody or that you are unfit to be a parent. So unless you have any addictions, are in an abusive relationship, don't have housing, or not enough money to provide for you and a child, I don't think he has any case.

Unlikely unless you have something going on in your life like drugs or alcohol or a past with the law. 90% of kids nowdays go to the mother and stay there. Money or no money, they cant just "take the child" from you just because. Honestly, I think he said that so that you dont leave which is a form of control.. be careful with that.. it can get dangerous.

Children belong to the mums. Sounds bad but it is true the law will be with you. You can win this cause you are the main one the mum. But if you have any problems, like drugs, or anything that could be really bad for the little one than you might be in trouble.
But please love him or her. I'm a mum, the only thing greater than have a child is God. You will realize how much you can love someone. This little one will be your entire universe because he comes from you, This is your baby and nobody will love YOU more than him or her.

He can take you to court, but it's unlikely that the baby would be taken away because he'd have to prove that you're an unfit mother.
BUT I do want to say that if he's threatening you like this, you should probably go ahead and leave him. It would be hard because you're pregnant, but do you really want him threatening to do something worse when you have a family later? He will most likely turn out to be very controlling and possibly become abusive.
Things to think about.

If you have a job and a house and or a place to live he should not be able to get the baby from you just for that reason. You need to talk to some one in your state who know your laws.

No, that is most unlikely. Talk to a lawyer. Learn your rights. Find a women's support group to help you with resources. Protect your future and that of your child. And don't be afraid of a bully because you can have the law on your side.

it sounds like he is using your baby to control u. think about if u really want to be in a rltp with him. he is threatening u. it is quite possible that he can fight to get custody and win or fight for joint custody. its his baby too so he will have days that he gets to keep her for a little while.
my advice is for u to find a place of your own and go. create a support team (your family or friends) someone to be there for u in this time of need. if your boyfriend is trying to control u with the baby, it will only get worse.

He would have to prove to the court that you are an unfit mother.
You should save some money up and get your own place. Find a legal aid office in your city and ask them what you need to do to protect your rights.
Hope this helps.
