Try skiping a weekend, if you cant contain you may have a problem, if you can deal with it then you're OK because you control it not the other way around

Being an alcoholic isn't so much about how much or when you drink but why. You can definately be an alcoholic without drinking all week long and without even drinking alot.

Do you drink to feel better? Do you ever "need" a drink? Do you feel weird without a drink in your hand? Do you have trouble at social gatherings without a drink? Does your drinking keep you from responsibilities you normally would not neglect? Have you done anything you seriously regretted while drunk? Does it affect your relationships with your girl/boyfriend or spouse, or with close friends?

I would talk to a therapist if you are not sure. I tend to feel that if you have to ask, it is time to at least talk to someone your trust (who knows you, maybe knows your habits and personality and can make the best judgement on if you should be worried or not, and help you seek a solution if that is the case.)

I would also try and spend a weekend doing something fun that does not involve drinking and see what happens. If you "crave" a drink all weekend you need to maybe talk to a therapist.

Alcohol abuse is a difficult problem that is really pervasive in our culture. The earlier you start to confront it for yourself and your friends the easier and better.

Peace

Not if it is not a lot...you are considered an alcoholic when you drink by yourself, drink a lot and do weird things and/or pass out and don't know where you are or how you are there....also if you drink morning, noon and night at every meal and between meals and if you have to have to disguise your drinks in fast food cups or coke cans....been there done that not fun....i had to get help...now i do not drink at all(its been 6 yrs)

That isn't enough information to have any idea. If you can go without alcohol, you aren't an alcoholic, if you can't function without alcohol, you are an alcoholic. Keep in mind that you might just think you can go without it and really can't though, so it is hard to self diagnose.

No an alcoholic would not be able to wait till the weekend, if you can control when you drink then you are not.

it depends on how much you drink. two drinks for a women, three or four for a man in one sitting. anything beyond that is prolly tending towards alcoholism, especially if it is interfering with your social or academic life.
