All F250s or 350s with a diesel will have a turbo starting with the 1993 model year. No turbo before 1993.

All Powerstrokes are turbo Diesels no matter what size truck. The new 6.4 will have a turbo.
As others have said, for two years (93 and early 94 if I remember) have turbos from the factory but are regular diesel injected.
Anything before that, does NOT have a turbo unless it was added aftermarket.
There are some non turboed being built by Ford currently for the F-250, but are not sold in this country (US and Canada ...probably due to emissions) mainly sold in South America.... (There are v-6 turbo dieseled f-250s in many other countries also)

No. All are not turbo and not all are power strokes either. most early models are with out that. you can add the turbo or the ps. I drive a 1991 f250 without all of that stuff. I dont think i need it. My truck is fast enough. But if you are looking for a pickup without the turbo or the power stroke, you would prolly need to stay in the lower years, I haven't seen a newer f250 or 350 without either a turbo or power stroke.

All F-250 & F-350 diesels, late '94 to current ARE equipped with the turbo. The upcoming 6.4L gearbox refers to, will be equipped with a two-stage turbo. Prior to late '94, the 7.3L diesels were labelled as IDIs. Whereas the turbo euipped diesels, were labelled DITs (direct injection turbo). In 2003.25, Ford introduced the 6.0L DIT 32 valve that has given LOTS of headaches. Hope this clarifies things.

If it's diesel, then it's turbo. 250-350's are also made gasoline. I have a 97 f350 powerstroke diesel. I can answer any other questions about diesel's.

All the Ford trucks with a diesel after 1990's came standard with turbo's, and it you have one before that time, after markets are every where and are greatly needed for performance.

Your engine is a 400M, for changed. Ford had 2 lines of small block engine contained in the overdue '70's, the Windsor & the Cleveland, both named for the position they were made. Even tho both lines had a 351, both were completely diverse. The 351C had a valuable pair of heads that moved a good number of air, besides the undeniable fact that the bottom end replaced into poorly oiled & weak. The 351W had a problematical bottom end, besides the undeniable fact that the production facility heads left plenty to be wanted. So, Ford tried to combine them right into a unmarried line, which replaced into the 351M, & later the 400M. regrettably, the M line did not artwork. It replaced into purely produced for like 3 years. What killed both the C & the M replaced right into a company said as Trick bypass, in Ohio. They got here out with a collection of aluminum aftermarket heads for the 351W that outflowed even the C heads. So, you've a problematical lo-po engine that replaced into outfitted for the service sector - taxi & police artwork. There are purely some aftermarket parts accessible for the M engine, besides the undeniable fact that the engine will pull perpetually. in case you want mountains of hp, get a W block & commence progression. The W can flow 500 hp and not using a conceivable adder actual. in case you want to force the truck & savour it without a lot hp that you rip-up the tranny, save the M.
