to the perso nthat said about the ingrediants thats like say cause cigarettes come with how much tar and nicotene and carbon monoxide on the packet theres no need for a warning. The majority of people do not know the amounts of salt and sugar there ment to have

Absolutely YES !!
Cigarettes & alcohol have health warnings now due to research (& lawsuits !!) over the last 50 years or so that prove these substances are bad for our health.
Obesity has the potential to overtake smoking in the next 10-15 years as the major cause of preventable death - let's nip this one in the bud rather than wait for it to happen ...
We all should know that obesity is a major health risk these days, whether everyone does or not is the question ... many parents may not realise the damage they are doing to their kids by letting them eat junk food all the time, rather than as a treat, so yes, put a warning on a McDonalds/Burger King food item or better still make them watch Morgan Spurlocks film 'Super Size Me' & don't forget the food manufacturers for kiddie snacks/lunches should be under the exact same scrutiny

I think so, even though it might not work straight away. As you can see smokers still keep smoking even though they know that it's bad for you, and the same thing can happen. But, I don't think people are actually aware of how bad junk food is, and if it comes with health warning, people will be more aware of it, even if they don't stop. That is not too bad as the first step for healthy eating.

no. It is our parent's responsibility to set the standards for our health and food consumption. I do, however, think it is OVERbearance to have candy/snack machines, soda machines in schools and McDonald's as the world wide sponsor to everything - EVEN sports. Its bad enough that we have to go shopping at ANY sort of consumer store and find "snacks and junk" at every turn, but at school? That is ridiculous. McDonalds does not need to sponsor the **** Olympics. That is pathetic. With all this corporate infilteration into EVERY aspect of our children's growing up and life, its not hard to figure out ONE of the reasons why its so hard for children to say no. I, for one, think the corporations should be cut out of these places.
Watch "Supersize Me". its a fantastic documentary on where our kids are headed if things get much more infilterated.

People know that all of these things are bad for them - if they eat too much of it! Like smoking - we know it's not good for us, but some of us still do it!
I think in moderation, it's OK - like once every few months. But they should put the ingredients on the wrappers of fast food - salt content, fat content etc. It's up to the individual at the end of the end.

I agree that people should come with common sense. That is about as stupid as that person suing McDonald's because they became obese. That person knew WHAT they were eating and HOW MUCH they were eating. Same as most people know that junk food can be eaten in moderation as long as their general health allows it...example...diabetics don't need to eat candy bars every day. People who have had quadruple bypass don't need to eat fried chicken. For the record, even a candy bar comes with a label with nutritional values on it.

junk food comes with a natural health warning.
Just look at the queue of people waiting to buy it, are you sure you really want to look like them ?
Junk food will eventually come with warnings, hopefully. We are now at the stage of conscious incompetance. i.e. we know its wrong. Someday soon we'll get to conscious competenace i.e. we know its wrong and we're doing something about it.
As in other industries it'll be money that drives it, the food companies will be driven by the fear of litigation

well if you look on the packaging of ready meals and crap like that you will now find they legally have to list the fat and salt contents etc. if you are aware of what amounts f each are hazardous to health you'll see there is in fact a health warning on them.

Wow you make a lot of assumptions.
Perhaps we should try harder to ensure a higher level of general education, then we wouldn't need to plaster everything in warnings...

Yup! It should say..."When eaten in large amounts, you should have a peculiar feeling of complete happiness so beware if you are only able of limited capacity".
