First of all...its your wedding, do wha tyou want! The only "prblem" with an all white wedding is that photos look really washed out. I have done a few all white, and used lots of greenery in the flowers to really set everything off. But you have to be very careful when picking sites...they all have their own color schemes that will play off your party more than usual.
I wish you had provided more info on season, style, time of day, etc. I personally love champagne as the wedding party color, particularly in the fall. It is still pretty nuetral, but makes everything feel warm, inviting, etc. Almost like adding candlelight to everything.
Also, a nice mossy celedon color is very versatile and chic. You can do any season, any style, etc. and most people look great in it.
Other colors that I am loving right now:
Steel Blue...good for winter and early spring
chocolate and pink (could add in bright green or cyan)
all white with simetouches of "something"blue
robins egg blue and taupe/tan
Navy and pale blue
shades of bronze
Good Luck and congrats!!!

And here is another suggestion...My aunt when she got married she wore a traditional white dress and all of her bridesmaids worn black long gowns. It made the event very formal and it looked very nice. It was the only time I saw black as a color. Also now a days bridal gowns come in soooo many colors other then white. Actually the dress I am going to wear was shown in a beautiful bronzy/champagne gold color combo. Mine will be white with a champagne colored sash, either way both are beautiful and if you choose to wear a gown with a sash there is a way to be different!! And here are some additional words of advise, pick a deep rich color for the dresses, chocolate brown for instance, and then add beautiful splashes of color i.e. pink in bouquets. I am actually doing just that and it looks so elegant and classy and the bouquets just pop. Remember it's all about the details that's how you can make your wedding truly unique. Congratulations and good luck, I am getting married to next year!!!

As a bridal consultant, I have to tell you that champagne and gold are common colors. In regards to "bad luck colors", it depends on the culture. Every culture has different colors that they refer to as bad luck, so who is to know which is true? I really do not believe in that stuff. I always say, you should go with the color that matches the theme of your wedding. if white matches, or if you want white, you should do white. White is nice, but you also want to be the one that stands out amongst the crowd. Since you have gold in your dress, I dont see that as a problem.
As to what colors are not too common, I would say greens, yellows, pastels. The most common are reds, black, perriwinkle (blues), champagnes, merlots, etc. Don't worry about common colors, choose a color you like. YOU will make your wedding different among all others. Good luck!

Oooh! Ooh! I love it! And yes, part of the reason I love it is because I did it! I admit! My colors were White and Ivory and Silver and Gold.
It
was
simply
gorgeous.
Someone told me that is called "Royal" themed. It was pretty and the candles and some of the other decorum lasts long as house decor because of the elegant colors. ALSO, keep in mind that superstitious people are LOCO and you can do what you like, including pure white Doll. Best wishes to you!!!

People also used to say wearing black to a wedding was bad luck - and it is now one of the more popular color choices for a wedding party! If you want white - have white.

I say it's your wedding, you can do whatever you want! It's the marriage that counts the most-not the wedding day!
I had a winter wedding. The colors were navy and silver. The bouquets were accented with shoots of icicles and the wedding cake was covered in snowflakes. I loved it because it was different. So this is your chance to express yourself and show your style :)

I wore a traditional white dress and then my colors were periwinkle & navy. My bridesmaids wore navy and my matron of honour wore periwinkle. I had blue flowers and decorations. It turned out beautiful, but you do what you want. Do not do something just because other people tell you to. Your wedding is your day and i'm sure whatever you decide will make you happy and will be beautiful. Congrats and Good luck!

Superstition is stupid. If you want everyone wearing white go for it! But I would suggest that the bridal party wears colors that are complimetary to your dress to make YOU stand out. I had a gorgeous white dress with light sky blue flowers decorating it with sequins to add sparkle (and the flowers were small and decorative, not gaudy and huge) My M.O.H. and my husband's Best man wore light blue and my hubby wore a white vest with a white tie.
Pick the dress you want and go for a color scheme with the colors off your dress. (but make sure that the choices you make for the color scheme help you and your dress stand out beautifully) It's your day, do what you want, don't let superstition ruin it.

Nothing wrong with a white wedding or a champagne and white wedding. I think it will be nice and different. In my opinion, the white wedding will look more elegant. Click links below to see ideas. Good Luck

Not having colors at all.
For a second wedding, letting the bridesmaids choose their own pieces in black and white (seen it, very well done).
Wearing five different dresses that day, like in Asia.
There is no right answer, just the right man.
