I have heard people say that on the bum is painful, but I have 3 tattoo's and the one on my bum hurt the least. The most painful was the one on my ankle. The one on my foot was okay but hurt a bit more than the bum. Just make sure when you choose a tattoo that you don't pick it just because it is a modern trend. Choose something that you know you will love in 20 years. I have had mine for 10 years and I still love them as I chose different types of flowers. I have a love of flowers so I never tire of them. I also have my husband initial in the middle of a flowering vine on my foot. Also do your research and thoroughly check out the place you are going to get it done at. Check how they clean there equipment and ask to speak to someone who has had work done by them.

I have a butterfly on my thigh. Have had it for years and have never regretted making that decision. It's like a piece of jewelry that never has to be taken off. They say, the nearer to the bone, the more painful it is, like the ankle. Oowweee! I also wanted one that wouldn't show unless I chose to show it. That's why I decided to have it put on my thigh. I dress modestly, so it isn't always visible. If you get one, I hope you enjoy it as I have, but be sure it is what you want, the removal scars are very ugly. Just want you to know, I am 64 years old and was wayyyy before my time. LOL.

I have one about that size. It's on my lower left back. Most of the time I forget it's there cuz I hardly ever see it. It didn't hurt TOO much. Felt like I was getting scratched by kitties. Probably lasted 10 minutes. And it's a good place if you want it to stay hidden.

I have three, one on my right ankle, one on my right shin and one on my upper back. They all "hurt" to some degree. The one that hurt the worst was the one on my ankle. The artist knew it was going to hurt so he kept moving around. He would work on the bottom (lots of pain) for a minute and then move to the top (less pain). They all hurt. Just remember it will be there forever. Make sure it is something that you really love.
I have never regretted any of them.

It's going to hurt no matter where you get it. I think that's the biggest misconception I've ever heard. "get it where you've got alot of fat, it doesn't hurt as bad" Bullshit. The needle will peirce your skin...no further...so it doesn't matter where you get it...it hurts the same. As far as some thing small that you can hide...Someting cute would be a small butterfly or heart or somthing on your hip...somewhere your panties would hide it if you follow, dear....
Any other tat ?s feel free to contact me.

Don't waste your time, tattoo's are not for people like you. Tattoo's are for people that want to make a statement. In forty years that tiny 1"x1" tattoo will just look like a black blob. I don't think you are ready- and a tattoo is not for you at this point in your life. They do hurt because you have to earn them. I've been a tattoo artist for 5 years and if you came in my shop I would send you packin'.

Your calf would be a good place, its a meaty spot not much bone. tattoos are gonna hurt. Or maybe get a "Tramp Stamp" on the lower back, if you want it hidden might want to go with the "Tramp Stamp". Remember the more bone the more pain!
