First you have to get a professional digital camera

Exactly the same as with any other camera. First become a professional, take pictures with a digital. Bingo!
Your question is too vague.
Essentially, if you are any good at photography at all, you would not be asking the question.
IF, however, your question really is "How can I improve my digital photography to a professional level?" then the answer is in two parts:
1: Use the best digital camera that you can afford.
2: Use your brain to select your subject, utilise the lighting that suits the subject best.

There's really no more to it than that. If you have 'the eye', you will produce professional-standard results. IF YOU HAVE THE EYE.

Actually, the very same way you do with a manual camera.
First issue is the lighting - all aspects that apply to manual photography apply to digital too. Select the light depending on the effect you want. The angle and perspective will have to vary accordingly. Decide whether you want to use a flash, a fill flash, red-eye reduction or nothing at all.
Then is the composing of the picture - this is an art, which can be developed with practice. Once again, there is no difference between how you were composing your pictures with the normal camera and how you can do it with your digital. The basic idea is to have a good feel of perspective, and get the effect of space and dimension that you want.
Of course, the distance, steadiness, and all those issues remain unchanged.
The biggest advantages you have in digital photography are that you can experiment a lot without wastages - you can try out ten variations of the same photograph, and keep only the one that comes out the best.
Also, you can digitally improve / enhance the photos using software.

Hi there!

Digital camera is more flexible and easy to use... But, there are more features as far as the professional needs to be concerned..

Basically a good photograph is said to be good with some factors,
Some are,
1. Focus - The subject should be in Focus (without any doubt).
2. Framing - Generally it seems nothing, But when u take more number of shots.. U'll experience your framing capacity is geting better and faster.
3. Exposure - With some techiques any photographer needs to have control over the exposure. The amount of light and shade in the output.
4. Depth - Depth of field shows anyone, how much professional u are... The proper distinction of the foreground, subject and the background should be shown..

When u can manage all these 4 factors before taking a shot with less time.. Your photograph is uniquely yours and soon u tend to develop u'r own style...

When it comes to digital camera, u may have problem with these factors..,

Focus - Most of the Digi cam will have an auto-focus option which will make u to accept and compromise on certain things.. With low light it may read wrongly.. Still u can have control over it, but the problem is with the LCD.., U can't say the subject is properly focussed with the help of LCD... Coz, Most of the times LCD (Coz of it's minimal size) shows u perfect pictures, but u'll be disappointed to see it the comp... So, train u'r camera and experiment with it. Spend more (of u'r free) time with it...
Framing: It's so easy to grab a frame tho a Digicam.., But study it try different angles and distances, to make it better...
Exposure: Again there won't be any problem with it, you can set your ISO, and most of the other factors are done by itself and u hav more option for bracketing with a Digicam.. :-)
Depth: There is a problem, and again with LCD.., Becareful with the depth and try control it manually...

Some more factors with Digi

Resolution: According to your working size, u need to fix up the Image resolution of your camera.. U need to know what resolution suits what kinda job... Fix it accordingly...

White balance: Yes, most of the digital camera needs to be white balanced before starting a project.., Just with your camera manual...

Softwares: Digital photographs, for sure need to be attended with softwares and corrected... You need to possess some basic software skills or at least to use the software provided by u'r camera manufacturer...

Remember one thing, HAVE A SECOND BEFORE U CLICK!!

All the best!

Artin :-)
