What are the most common and rare blood types?

I heard that O was the most common and AB was the least...

O pos, A pos, B pos are the most common. Next is O neg, A neg, B neg. All RH neg blood is considered rare but the most rare are AB pos and AB neg. If you are a female with a negative RH factor and you become pregnant from a man with a positive RH factor, you will need a shot or your body will reject the pregnancy and you could lose the baby. If he is negative also, the baby should be fine. If the female is postive she can carry a baby with negtive blood type just fine. The blood type O pos can go to any POSITIVE blood type, O neg can go to any NEGATIVE blood type. O pos can only receive O pos, and O neg can only receive O neg.

Everybody likes the O+ or O- b/c you can mix it w/ A+ or - , B+ or - or A w/ O or B w/ O the list goes on. The thing is O whether positive or negative have to have their specific blood type or their red blood cells will attack the foreign red blood cells. So if I remember right the most rare blood type in the world is B- there is only like a handful of people and they are asked to donate to the Red Cross every month. Its all b/c of a special protein that covers the blood cell and O doesn't have the special protein that's why its considered the universal blood type.

A B are most common. Most rare in AB negative. O is the universal donor. Any only can receive O but O can only receive O.

R H negative. It's not a big deal unless you get very sick. I found out I had when I was delivering my son.
