This is a great questions.
I have had many parties, and many are formal ones where i have had big people come to my house. Baileys is always a good afterdrink. Its good for all ages that can drink because of its rich taste and its best over ice. I would say that baileys is a drink thats meant for a formal party.
I love it, especially in a glass thats very small, enough to only drink about 5-7 sips worth, thats the amount i usually serve, and its best that way.

Of course not.
I would imagine beer and the like would be much less elegant at a formal party since there is really no way to serve those that doesn't look "cheap" even if that's not your intent.
Bailey's is something that can be done elegantly though. It can be served in fancy shot glasses (whether chocolate or not) or mixed in other drinks and not lose its "class".

I would like to speak with the person who deems all this stuff proper or improper. If it is your party, then I say nothing is improper. You do things your way and I do things my way. You do what feels right for you.

I would offer it after the meal. That is a great drink. Amareta is better..To answer you question, I think your guest would love it.
That is the best decision you could make!

not if you're serving it as an after-dinner drink, or for pre-dinner cocktails. I wouldn't serve it during the meal
