John 21:25 Now there are also many other things that Jesus did. Were every one of them to be written, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written.

The gospel writer ends his account having accomplished his purpose of letting people know the truth about Jesus and the basic facts of his life and ministry here on earth. He adds this statement to acknowledge that his purpose was not to give a detailed chronology of every event in the life of Jesus but to provide sufficient information for faith in the salvation of all who will believe on Jesus.

Very good point, but I think the Protestants would argue that if the things that Christ said that weren't written down weren't necessary or else God would've placed them in scripture. Just recently the Lord opened my eyes to the Truth about Tradition in the Church. It's something that I can't believe Protestant's can't grasp.

The verse is quite plain,
however, it would be dangerous to imagine all kinds of things that did not happen, and attribute them to Jesus.

That Jesus Christ did so many other things while here on earth, that if they were to be told, it would fill many books. What is written about him is just a few of the things he did. Also the Bible is enough for us to know and follow Jesus.

I think John was referencing not only the things He did during His state of humility as man, but also His preincarnate state as God in the Old Testament.

"Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written."

Jesus did other things that were not recorded.

Why do I feel that there is an ulterior motive in this question?
(This site is making me paranoid.....sorry)

I'm not sure how Protestants interpret it. After reading the Bible, Catholicism made logical sense to me. I'm currenlty converting to Roman Catholicism.

first, thanks for typing out the verse.....

second, i interpret it exactly as it's written...

taken IN CONTEXT, it's referring to the many miraculous things Jesus did....and that he did so many miraculous things that, if recorded, would not fit over the expanse of earth....it's simply saying that Jesus performed many miraculous signs...
