I talking tequila for drinking - not shooting or mixing. A good smooth complex tequila. I do not care for most silvers or anehos. Silvers are chit (sorry no other way to describe) and the anejos pick up too much of the oak flavor. I like my meat smoked not my booze. I look forward to finding a new pleasure for my booze hole

OK folks, while I appreciate you love for doing shooters and drinking margeritas - I'm looking for ones that you drink straight- like a good whiskey, vodka, or cognac.

Have you tried Cazadores Resparado?
Personally Cazadores Anejos is my favorite, but the resparado is excellent too.

I hate to say it, but, for me, it's a very commercial tequila by the name of Jose Cuervo 1800. It's smooth enough to swill around in the mouth and savour, and not too expensive for a guy that drinks a bottle a day and has done for 25 years.
By the way, I hope none of you tequilaheads answering these questions ever touch a salt shaker or lemon slice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I am partial to Cabo Wabo Reposado. Very smooth, pure and tastes great alone or mixed. Prefer Ruby Red Grapefruit (fresh squeezed) as a mixer myself.

Quervo 1800 is a great, smooth, easy-to-drink-straight tequila. Put it in your freezer for at least an hour, and serve it in a chilled shot glass. This stuff is so easy going down you may not even need the set-up of lime and salt!
