Well there is no proof that either existed or that Jesus was the son of God, but there is proof that a man called Yeshur, (Jesus is the Latin rending of the Hebrew Yeshur.)This man went around spreading the word of God and performing miracles, Like many things when the bible was badly translated from Hebrew there were many mistakes, for example there was never a work about a Virgin Mary, in Hebrew it was said of a young woman, but don't take my word for it check it out for yourself, sorry apart form Mohamed being just another man of the times I know noting about him, but remember they were both just men, doing God's work

The last few answers are spot on.Jesus did exist , as did Mohamed, peace be upon him(staying PC, ha).The Koran accepts Jesus as a speaker of Gods word, or prophet, as was Mohamed.I suppose evidence comes down to underlying bias... I believe both were real and messengers of God

Mohammad can be easily traced historically. Mohammad knew that Jesus existed and believed in him as a great prophet. If Jesus didn't exist, then Islam is a fake.

Jesus. The Gospels were written, at the most, 50 years after his death. The first biographies and accounts of Muhammed were not written until nearly 200 years after Muhammed's death. Flavius Josephus, a Jewish-Roman historian, mentions Jesus in his writings.

hmmm...they were both real physical persons. Both were recorded outside of their respective Holy Books (and Jesus was mentioned in the Koran, though not as Christians know Him as). I don't think the "amount" of proof means anything.
How much evidence of existance outside of the books he wrote do we know of Plato?

there's quite a bit of evidence suggesting that Jesus was truly a man of history....the issue for most people is whether or not they believe that Jesus was the Son of God....
my evidence would be the writings of Josephus, Pilate, THE KORAN, the Bible...and many others...

Most scholars in the field belief Jesus was an actual person. The view that he is entirely fabricated is a minority opinion. The overview at Wikipedia is quite accurate about eh biblical and non-biblical sources accounting for his historicity.

Hard to say. There are no actual birth or death records on Jesus, but there are writings from Pilate.
