1) How old are you?
2) How are you going to convince your dad?
Depending on your age, bringing a new dog may not be the best idea. If you're older than 16, you're going to have realize that you're going to go off to college and your dad is going to be stuck with the dog. Don't pretend that you'll just live off of campus--most colleges and universities require students to live on campus for at least 2 years.
If you're younger than 16, how are you going to pay for it? If you can't pay for it, then you don't need it.
While you may be in love with this breed, you need to understand your father's side. He's looking at a dog that will live for at least 15 years.
In other words, now may not be the best time to get a dog, especially a puppy. A puppy requires more attention than you can provide with school, and who's going to let the puppy outside for bathroom breaks? You're not going to crate your puppy for 8 hours a day, are you? That's not fair to the puppy.
You're in school for 8+ hours a day. Your dad must work to support you. No one is going to be there for the puppy. How will you train the dog if you're not there?
What about vet bills? What happens when you want to go on vacation--who gets to pay for the boarding expense? Do you have a backyard? Who's going to scoop doggie doo?
Think about it before begging for a puppy. Unless you can solve the problems listed above, you're going to sound young and immature asking for a dog with the excuse "but I want one!"

Technicially, Labradoodles ARE designer dogs. They are pretty good dogs, but being a recently announced ''breed'', less is known about them.
Why not try your luck, rescuing a dog from a shelter. They need a home more, and your Dad might be more approving, if you are wanting the dog for it's personality, and not because of the breed.

you should start doing things to show your dad that you are mature enough to have a dog. talk to him about it and set some kind of routine where you so some type of chores to show him that you are responsible enough to care for a dog... and then maybe in a few months after you've proven your self responsible he'd be more receptive. Also i agree with your father, yes labrapoodles are really cute. but you should be more responsible and adopt one of the many wonderful animals that needs a home. go check out the SPCA. maybe a willingness to give a home to a homeless dog would also show your responsible.

They do shed. They are a cross, not a breed, meaning that they can inherit the shedding gene from the labrador side. So instead of having short labrador hair everywhere, you'll have long fuzzy labradoodle hair all over your house.

They are designer dogs. To persuade him you have to show him that you are willing to take care of it. Show some more responsibility around the house. Constantly clean, get a job, and save for it. Show him that you can buy the dog yourself and I bet it will be impressed?

My sister has wanted a dog for forever, and we finally got one a couple years ago. She signed a "contract" saying that she'd do all of the work to take care of the dog. It also said that she wouldn't complain about her new school, but that's not really relevant to you.

Respect your father.
He said no, so live with it. Your wants are not the center of the universe.

do as your dad says. he's the one who'll have to pay all the bills and probably end up taking care of it anyway.
