By trying to understand why you need to force your needs and insights into the foreground. Once you understand your need to do this, you can find an alternative way to satisfy this need instead of allowing yourself to be selfish. Try an exercise where you observe without judging and reacting - to the needs of others and your own thoughts. This can teach you a lot about yourself.
