My coworker has to be the laziest person ever! She always expects me to do everything, plus she is soo slow and a few fries short of a Happy Meal. I want to let her know that she's lazy, and needs to start to figure s**t out herself! I've only been working a few months ahead of her and I know ALOT more than her. I just don't think it's fair, we have the same title, I probably make a little more money than her since I am more qualified. But I hate the fact that she expects to handle EVERYTHING!

I've toldher before "You can do that too", "You do it, so that in case I don't come in one day, you'll know how to do it", "Hey there, this is what your assigned to do, not me", "Wait a minute.... I think your able to handle this on your own". I like her, she's nice and all. But she knows I got alot on my plate, and expects me to do most of the work. All she does if daydream.

Well I make more money because I have a Bachelor's and she does not, all she has is the experience in the field. She's 8 yrs older than I am and she has been a Librarian for 6 yrs and I have been one for a little over a year.

Since you are not her boss, it is none of your business. If you have to do things she is supposed to do and it presses you for time to do your job right, talk to your boss. Otherwise, butt out.

If you're a few months ahead of her, and if you know a lot more than she; there is the chance that she is having a little bit of a more difficult time learning as much as she should. Since you make a little more money than she, that should at least make you feel a little better.

You should probably calmly talk to her and tell her you feel as if she could do more. If she says she doesn't quite know all there is to know about the job yet then figure out what she can work on next in order to help her learn. Don't approach it as if you believe she's lazy. Approach it (and consider it could be the case) as if she's just too unsure of things to be confident in taking them on. Go over each task that has to be done and ask her if she's comfortable doing each one. For the ones she says she's not comfortable with, let her work on them with your guidance until she's comfortable with them.

Sometimes when people are a little nervous about a relatively new job they come across as not the brightest individual. Many times people who are relatively new to a job they are so worried about doing something the wrong way they may sit back a little and let the more experienced person handle it.

I would stop comparing myself with her and just do my own work. That includes not doing her work for her and not handling everything for her. It's nice of you to attempt to train her to do more things but if she's really not interested then you can't force her to be productive. Sooner or later your supervisor is going to figure out who is the one who works and who is the one who daydreams.

you don't have to! You should be the examples.here you are influencing number of other co workers.you should be the first ones to work.you are the ones that should set the example and stand for what is to be.Just write these few lines on a paper and stick it on her desk " Iron rust from disuse;water loss it's purity from stagnation, even so does inaction sap the vigor of the mind"Than see confidence allows her to do all the work she/he assigned.

It depends on what type of job you have. Your first option is to talk with her - without being angry or accusing her of being lazy. Just tell her that she needs to pitch in and help out more. Your next option is to go to the superior and explain the situation - and, believe me, they will ask you if you spoke to the girl first. Your last option is to quit and find a job where she is NOT.

Good luck.

Hi Jay, Sounds like she doesn't know her job,and is hidding behind you and using you. Just go up to her and tell her, your not going to do her work anymore. If that don't work go over her head and report her. Why should you have to help her!! Your not getting paid extra. You have to worry about yourself not others. A Friend.

Just do the work you are assigned to do, and stop doing the work assigned to her. If she is not doing any work, it should become apparent to the supervisor that she is just dead weight. If there is no clear separation of responsibilities between you two, ask your supervisor for clarification as to what each of you is responsible for doing.

Go to HR and tell them that you are bearing the brunt of her inadequacies and you are not being paid to do the work of 2 people. Ask for a giant raise or for them to do something about it immediately.

Talk to her privately and tell her straight out in a non-confrontational manner.
