if they are Christian, then they don't

First of all.
Equality for all may be an American value - but as far as I can see it isn't build in the American society. In America you don't have any equality at all. That would require a Communist/social way of thinking. And the American history shows that the Americans try to go in the opposite direction.

But.
regarding religious beliefs and equality:

I do not think that any religion rejects equality. on the contrary it is very important if you want to build a good society. And any religion aims at that.

so you Americans have a lot to learn - from the communists you have been fighting for decades.

The American Contstitution, the longest living constitution (200+years) is also one of the best written with its amending formula, that makes it so easy to adjust it to modern conditions. It was not written by Christians but by Freemasons (at that time infiltrated by the "illuminati") and by Rosicrucians. Some outwardly professed to be Christians so as to avoid ridicule and persecution but the depth of their belief and the inspiration for the Constitution is not from the Bible but from the Secret Teachings that come from Egypt and other "mystery religions" of Greece, Rome and the Mediteranean area. The Structure of the American system is similar to the Roman system.

So I like the American Constitution as a document. It does not mean that I like American foreign policy and the American mentality about the rest of the World. A good set of values does not necessarily make for a good standard of living and equality for all. Ask the blacks, the gays, the atheists, and women until recently. The struggles of the oppressed was carried out in all countries regardless of the "constitution" or the "written values" of that country. The struggle is usually: social class based, rich vs poor, or is Religion-based: catholic, protestant, muslim, jew, or Racially based: Southern USA or South Africa, etc...

The American constitution should guarantee equality for all, much more than the Bible, but does it? Once a religion has political power, it "disrespects" the other religions. That is the history of the Mormons who had to flee to Utah and the Quakers and the Shakers who had to isolate themselves to be "free"...

Perfectly. We are all equal and made in God's likeness from a spiritual perspective. So, no matter the race, religion, ethnicity, gender, age, sexual orientation, etc. we all are equal. We are each others brothers and sisters, but we don't act like we are or treat each other as such. That is the travesty. Free will enters also and some choose a negative path that detracts from this reality.

Americans don't have any values like that. U.S. didn't become the world power by talking about equality for all. You are buying too much on the propaganda.
