The style of music is not what concerns Him.
Many hymns of the church have tunes that were barroom bawdy songs in the time of John and Charles Wesley. They used those tunes because the people knew them and could sing new words to the tunes they already knew.
What God does not approve of is likely the words and meanings of the rap music. Advocating horrid things in the lyrics of the music is not just offensive to police, women, and people in general, but sinful to God.

It depends on the Lyrics and who's listening. I know a couple of songs that are about like religous things. But like if they're rapping about having a lot of women and you actually go out and try to do that then I don't think that's approved of.

There is christian rap music also.
Some "christian rock bands" mention God less on their CDs than some secular rap CDs. So.......
The question actually applies to all music. Does it glorify God?

There are some Christian rap artists like Toby Mac who praise God in that way. God never specified how we are to worship, so I'm sure if they're giving glory to God through rap, then He loves it!

God doesn't disprove or approve anything down here, we have free will to choose our path, loving or not, and whether we approve of it from the earthly/physical perspective. It's when we get "over there" that really matters. What have we done with the life given to us on earth?

Actually, God does not get involve in worldly affairs. All genres of music that promote materialism, fornication, adultery, domestic violence, rape, spiritism, devil worship, racial hatred and the like, God does not approve of these at all.
