We just got a new baby kitty, his name's Oliver. What breeds do you think his parents might've been? Anyone who can identify two likely breeds?

I agree possibly a long haired breed but keep this in mind.... we adopted our Tuxedo cat from a rescue group who had his picture on their website before we saw him in person. On the website, his coat looked long & fluffy like Oliver.

However, a week or so later when we saw him in person it was shorter . I've learned that kittens often have longer & softer hair than what it may be later.

Our male cat is now 4 and he is 100% short hair. But a real beauty - Tuxedos are my favorite.

And I think that most persians have a more "pushed in" looking nose.

would not appear like a particular breed. Pointed markings can appear in Siamese, Ragdoll, Himalayan and Birman cats yet in addition they appear in better half and youngsters cats. except you have papers (or the guy who owns this cat regardless of if it relatively is not you) specifying a particular breed odds are it relatively is NO specific breed - basically like over ninety seven% of the cats on the planet. opposite to what somebody else suggested this cat is maximum easily no longer a Himalayan. A Himalayan is a pointed Persian so it has the around head, cobby physique, short stocky limbs, flat face and long coat of a Persian - all good factors this cat lacks.

From the photos, it would appear you have a gray domestic long hair. If there is a crook or bump in the tail, there is persian in the mix. Unless Oliver is papered, he would be considered a general mix breed, but definately a domestic long hair.

He is gorgeous.

Oh, how cute your Oliver is!!! Congratulations!

His head shape is sort of like the Egyptian type cat (sorry I forget the breed name). He has that long pointed chin and rather long ears. Very elegant. Either that or Siamese.

Then possibly part Persian. I think Oliver is a very good name for him.

Adorable! Look like Moggies with attitude to me! Could have some Angora, Persian or Chinchilla way back in there somewhere.

What a little dolly he is! And I love the name Oliver.

Unless you get a cat or kitten from a registered breeder all cats are just cats and no special breed. Who would want one with deformed front legs, a smushed in face which makes their eyes tear constantly and compromises its breathing, or one without any hair anyway?

It looks like your baby is a Pure Bred silver Persian.

If I had to guess, I would call him a Domestic Medium Hair. He is very cute, good luck with him.
