My computer just crashed. I managed to salvage the hard disk (the motherboard was broken) but I can't get access to my old emails. How do I access them?

well, its its web-mail.....??? you don't have any problems...you get get them from anywhere, but if you have outlook-express...it might be gone!!!

tip....always do a back-up! get yourself a cheap flash-drive, and used it for back-ups!!!

If you use Thunderbird (and maybe Outlook Express) its In a hidden file in your documents called application data.
(typically:-
C:\Documents and Settings\yourname\Application Data)

(to see hidden files, go tools--->folder options--->view, and tick the "show hidden files and folders" option)
Look for a folder called Thunderbird(or Outlook Express)Your inbox should be in the "localfolders" or the "pop.yourmailserver.com" folders.(Look at the file size to get some idea if its the right one )

if you want your most recent ones mail2web.com if you want the ones you have on your machine now. you can get them with difficulty by putting the hd in a other machine or caddy and looking that way. next time try IMAP4 its a service most providers do it basically makes your mail come up on any machine and stores them online. enquire about that service for the future.
