Ok, this might sound kinda childish, but here goes. I was talking to my friend and we got on the subject of death (we ar very morbid). I said "you know, if i died right now, no one in this room would give a ****." Then a girl in my class, who I know but we've never even talked to in our lives, says "no i'd be very upset." She said it in a sort of whining voice so i could tell it wasn't sarcasm. I was saved the embarassment of answering because another kid started up a long conversation with her. Should i think it was just a friendly remark or what? I don't want to ask her out with just that as basis for assuming she likes me. We're both in three honors classes just in case that has any impact. Help please!

Whoaaaa, slow down there - try making eye contact first, then saying Hi (or whatever kids say to eachother these days!) Start talking to her. get to know her and if you like her ask her out. you could always say something like " you know how you said youd be upset if i died, well i would be upset if you died too" but that might sound kinda wierd. like your planning to kill her or something. you might not wanna say that. Just start talking to her more and if you still like her ask her out.

she was just being nice, im not saying she doesnt like you, but that incedent does not mean she likes you, i have heard many girls say they would be upset if anyone died, and they would cry if someone in one of my classes died, its just something about girls, i feel bad telling you this
