Paint over it, its awful stuff to try and get off. I gave in when my kids were small and got hold of a pen. I scrubbed with everything incuding toothpase which someone said would work...it didnt!!! So I got the paint and just covered it with that, and hid the pens well away from the kids! :D

You need to prime before painting over the marker. Otherwise it will show through. Use a stain blocking primer.

Prime over the area with the marker, let dry, and repeat if you can still see the marker. Then give the wall a coat of paint.

For permanent marker, I always use nail polish remover or acetone. Since the wall paint will probably come off, do you have the same or a similar color to touch up?

Try Mr. Clean Erase Sponges.
They come in a blue /lightblue box with 2 sponges. It erases from walls and floors, that is all I use. I have nieces and nephews that like drawing on the bathroom wall and I just wet the sponge and wring the liquid out and use it and it comes out with a few wipes. First wipe a little at a time because some paints are latex and are really sort of wimpy when it comes to wiping them with cleansers so be careful. Hope it helps.

Try Mr.Clean "Magic Eraser" by Proctor and Gamble.
Ask them at 1-800-248-1612

It is amazing stuff.
It wont ruin your paint provided it works on permanent ink.
Removed everything from painted walls and other surfaces I ever tried.
Buy it at the supermarket in the household cleaning isle.

hopefully you have left over paint from when it was originally painted. Just paint over it...otherwise you can try some soap and water but it won't get you very far since it is a "permanent" marker

Use a product called Oops or Goof Off. Be careful though because you might take the paint off the wall too.

You Can't ! That's why they call them PERMANENT MARKERS !

And if you try just painting over it without applying a sealer it will just bleed thru the paint!

the only way i know it to repaint. sorry. if you do end up repainting make sure you use a good oil based primer to paint over the marker spots. if you dont they will bleed back through. Kilz works really good but just to let you know. you will need to paint the whole wall corner to corner with it, b/c it will leave a shinny spot. its alot of work, but that's the only way i know
