Okay, go to Wal-Mart and go to the hand & lotion dept. There you'll find a cream called "UDDERLEY SMOOTH" tonight when you go to bed, "smother" your hands in this and put a pair of gloves on and wear them over night. They use this cream on cow udders to keep them from chapping, so you "know" it's got to be good for our skin. I have dry skin all over, and it works great for me, okay? Good luck. P.S. It's only 1.99 per tube!

I have really dry and cracked hands too. My cuticles are always bleeding. If I remember, I put cortisone cream 0n them and rub it in real well and then put Eucerin cream in the jar on my hands thickly and then pull a pair of white gloves on and sleep with them on overnight. My hands are always much better in the morning. If you don't have a pair of gloves that you want to use, try a pair of white socks. This really does help, like I said, if you remember.

You could either try Aquaphor, but you would have to use it daily or twice a day. It's by the lotions, but it's not lotion. It is meant for dry skin though and it works great for TONS of things! I even used it on my cat to help heal up her stitches when it wasn't healing!
Another thing you can do is mix half Lubriderm lotion with half Baby Oil GEL and that works awesome as well!
I have always had dry skin and hated lotions because they would only work for an hour, but these two things work wonders!

Neutrogena hand cream concentrate is quite strong stuff and works quite well, waterproof to an extent. Elizabeth Arden 8 hour hand cream is equally as good. If that fails, use an over the counter emolient. I usually use it for my eczema but its coats your hands really well.
Try moisturising your hands with generous amounts before going to bed and put cotton gloves on them to trap moisture from being lost when you sleep. It leaves your hands soft and supple.

At night before bed apply a generous amount of vaseline to your hands.....then put on cotton gloves or socks over your hands repeat this every night until your condition gets better..
