properly, the designation of "capital" is fairly beside the point. the government can't purely flow to ny with the aid of traditions linked with the District of Columbia and there is no longer very nearly adequate room in ny. they could declare ny the capital yet stay in Washington D.C. yet what element could that serve?

no, NYC is too crouded the way it is now...picture tons of immigrants and non-americans flocking to the city on vacation to visit the us capital...that would stink
