How to spray carpet for mites from animal hair?

My son has 3 dogs (outside), but he is around them all the time. I start to itch anytime I sit on a couch or chair he has sit in prior to my sitting. Is there a such thing as mites from animal hair or what is it and also How Do I Spray to Rid Them or what ever it is?

fleas will bite people. but dog lice and dog mites will not live on people.just like people head lice cant live on dogs.
