I have light brown hair with blonde highlights and I want to dye it this color http://img177.imageshack.us/my.php?image=n25509958305919509117fe4.jpg would my highlights turn pink because of the red?

That's unlikely.

The new hair color, if it's permanent, will deposit color into each strand. The red will be more vibrant on your old highlights, but they probably won't turn them pink.

im a hair dresser of ten years and would not recommend coloring over your highlights yourself not only can they turn pink they can break off. but if you must do this yourself use a semi-permanant color and apply it over clean damp hair this will help even out the porosity of your hair. you may have to color it twice to get it deep enough the highlights may be a little wishy washy at first so the second time will do the trick just leave it on only half the time. good luck.

Well I will tell you from my experience that ,yes. I had predominantly blond highlights though. It had faded to a pretty pink lol but nonetheless it was pink. You need to use a copper filler on your highlights first to fill in the hair and then add the red to lessen the pink affects. But that hair color is awesome.

If you have a hairstylist its best to ask and be safe first.'
Good luck~i~
