You can get chapped lips if you're dehydrated, or if the air is really dry or cold. Make sure you're getting enough water, for starters. Now, you don't have lip balm, I guess, but how about vaseline, or an unscented hand cream? A tiny dab of shortening or lard would work in a pinch, too. UNsalted butter would work, but not salted, which will just suck more moisture out of your lips. Anything that is going to seal the cracks and soften your lips so you can move them without pain is good. If you have the patience to soften some candle wax in your hands and try rubbing that on your lips, it might work. Beeswax is great. Try, try, try not to lick your lips. It feels better for a moment, but then the moisture evaporates and it just gets worse. I suggest getting a tube of lip balm for each coat pocket, so you always have it with you. Chapped lips are no fun.

When it's cold outside the air can make your lips very dry and chapped. You need to buy some chap stick and put it on everyday if your lips get chapped often.

Use La Mer's Lip Balm. Chapped Lips are very common when it is cold outside. Make sure that you aren't licking your lips to keep them moist but do drink a lot of fluids.

Well as mentioned in most of the other suggestions, any kind of lip balm will help - however, try to stay away from ones with menthol in them because the menthol can become addictive believe it or not.
Also - the best way to help chronic chapped lips is to drink plenty of water - it could be that you just don't have enough fluids in your body.

With the various lip moisturizers on the market what you mean there is nothing to cure it? Okay, I see what you're saying cure. Those things just take care of the symptoms. What you need is GLYCERIN straight from the bottle, no other additives. You might also want to try ALOE VERA JELLY/GEL.
Also you're probably breathing from your mouth instead of your nostrils. Also you may not be drinking enough fluids, especially water.

One of the best ways to prevent chapped lips is to maintain proper hydration. To ease the pain a little neosporine+ will prevent infection and ease pain. Also you could try a little Vaseline.

if u lick ur lips a lot then u will worsen the condition. dry, wintery weather will also tend to chap up ur lips. if u don't have chapstick handy, just put on some sort of lotion...just something to help get it moisturized. no lotion? how's about vaseline petroleum jelly. that'll work too.

Try vaseline. Don't go out into the sun with it on, but apply it before you go to bed, or around the house. Everyone usually has some around. Hope you do.
