Americans say on weekends.
Brits say at the weekend but I'm not sure if it's at weekends, at the weekends or neither. They seem off to me.

"on the weekend" is American, not English, so it depends which you want. We say at the weekend or at weekends. Never in the weekends.

I would say 'at weekends' if it's something you do every weekend, or 'at the weekend' if you just did it last or next weekend.

Never say "in the weekend" always "at the weekend". But it is "in the week" not "at the week".

hi, the word 'weekends' is plural (meaning you are talking about more than one weekend - because there is an 's' at the end of it!) if you are only talking about one weekend - you would refeer to it as "on the weekend" or "at the weekend"

ie: "im going for a walk at the weekend"
or "on the weekend i will go for a walk"

I hope this helps you !
