My child has ADHD and don't let people tell this is not a true issue. I have studied this subject for along time now. I have two sons both with ADHD and one with Autism. You should take your child to your pediatrician and discuss what the teacher said. If he does his job, he will have your child tested by the school. They should send there results to your doctor. I cannot stand people who say don't drug your kids, it is a conspiracy. That is BS. I use to think that way and there was no way I was gonna use drugs but I was at whits end. He was failing school, he no friends, he couldn't concentrate even doing sports. I thought what the hell. I told myself that if he turns into a zombie I was gonna take him off them. What a huge difference it made. He started to catch up in his reading. He started making friends because he was not in there face all the time. He spends all of his time in the classroom instead of in the hallway. ADHD is a chemical embalance. Have her properly diagnosed. That is the key issue.

I do not know the exact symptoms of ADD and can't find the ones for ADD but only ADHD.

I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was in the first grade. I could not sit still in class, I could not read (people with ADHD often have dyslexia), and could not concentrate.

My mom did not just let one teachers word make it true, she made sure I was properly evaluated. The school counselor came in and "watched" the class, little did I know I was the only one being watch.

I did not sit still, I did not pay attention for very long. These where things my mom did not see when we where at home because I was getting one on one attention during homework and so forth.

Ask for a second opinion before you start to believe in the school. Any problem child these days is being told they have ADD or ADHD, and in truth they are just looking for a little extra attention.

The symptoms are lazy teacher with no regard for child's welfare brainwashed by the pharmaceutical companies who doesn't want to deal with a child that has an active imagination, is physically active, and has a penchant for asking why.

Unless your child is CLEARLY PSYCHOTIC and diagnosed by a Psychiatrist DO NOT EVER drug her into submission.

Spend more time with your kid - really get to know their study habits and attention span. Be sure your kids have a solid reading and writing and number base BEFORE they enter school. If you don't then they will display all the symptoms that are given to this ADD crud. Yes there are legit reasons for drug treatments of some kids - TEACHERS ARE NOT MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS - Seek a few doctors opinions.

My daughter was diagnosed with moderate ADD and I was the one who brought it to the attention of her teachers and when i didn't get anywhere with that, her pediatrician. The symptoms that resonated with me were that she would be so very inattentive, like, very daydreamy and she could never complete a command I gave her to do; I always had to have her repeat it to me, and even then she wouldn't always remember. Her teacher said that if they were all following along in a book or something, and it looked like she was paying attention, if the teacher called on her to read the next line or something, my daughter had no clue where they were, even though she looked like she was following along. Its hard to diagnose and I took my daughter to a child psychologist who did a battery of tests to make his diagnosis. I didn't want to just throw her on medication if she didnt need it.
Now she's in high school and takes adderall and the difference in her school performance is like night and day. I dont' give the medicine to her on weekends or over vacations, either.

If she had upload i think of it could have shown up earlier 8 yrs previous. Does she sit down and watch video clips? the whole action picture I mean, this could properly be a job it particularly is extremely problematic for upload teenagers, a minimum of each and each of those I even have dealt with. i'm an EA and you will fairly lots tell in kindergarten the youngsters with upload, so no count if it particularly is coming up now i could say it particularly is greater a case of boredom than something. and each baby makes stupid errors, heck each and every grownup does to boot. bypass forward and do the testing yet my wager is she isn't. next year she could have a greater inspiring instructor and have no issues in any respect. I even have confidence each and every physique is too rapid to label upload. My cousin consistently says 0.5 of those teenagers have NBD, in no way been disciplined LOL I decrease than no circumstances meant the NBD approximately your daughter she sounds like a typical 8 year previous to me. I even have 7 & 9 year previous daughters. My youngest is extremely rather distracted yet is interior the right share of her type so I parent it particularly is barely her age or the way she is.

I was diagnosed with ADHD\ADD when I was in elementary, but when I grew older i learned that I was a tactile-kinesthetic learner. They learn through, moving, doing and touching. Tactile-Kinesthetic persons learn best through a hands-on approach, actively exploring the physical world around them. They may find it hard to sit still for long periods and may become distracted by their need for activity and exploration. So she might be a tactile-kinesthetic learner. Teachers do not understand the concept of a tactile-kinesthetic learner, so they go with the most known thing:ADHD\ADD. It is just a common mistake that teachers make. But your child's doctor should have the final word.

borderline ADD? Gimme a break! Teachers are not doctors! Do you have any reason to believe your child has difficulty concentrating? Sit down with her and do homework, do you have concerns? Maybe the class is too full, teacher is over-whelmed, maybe your daughter is being bullied and having anxiety issues about it.

Only a doctor conducting a series of tests can determine this. Mabe your child is just spirited and the teacher has no idea what she is talking about.

Alot of kids diagnosed as ADD are usually one of two things a: allergic to a food product.....this can cause kids to become hyper and restless....or b: very intelligent and becoming bored because there is no challenge for them. I'd get a few opinions from doctors, though....good luck.
