Well I'm Australian and I've never heard of it either! After a bit of a look, I have to say knowing where it is, maybe as many as Phillip Island. Sounds like it's a bit of a well-kept secret! Very nice spot!!!!!

Phillip Island would be pretty busy, it's a major tourist area.
As far as the other two, do you mean the Bellarine Peninsula down by Geelong? I used to live down that way and it gets pretty packed around summer and the school holidays because of the great surfing beaches. If you're planning on staying, book early.
I haven't been to the Mornington Peninsula, so I could only guess how busy they'd be.
You could call the local tourist information offices. They'll be able to give you more information as to how busy they get, and what their peak seasons are if you're planning on staying in these areas.

Phillip Island by far.Don't go there, there are better places with penguins. I think you need to go to Mornington Peninsula, stay there around 2 nights and then take the ferry to the Ballerine Peninsula and then get back to Melbourne.

Probably Phillip Island - principal source of income is tourism.

I have never heard of Ballerine Penninsula - are you sure you have the correct name.
