Channel locks or a strap wrench. Or a strap wrench on the glass jar (if that is what it is) and channel locks on the lid.
Or, cut around the inside of the lid, sorta like a can opener.
Or: The Hulk, spiderman, some of the new heroes on TV.
Or. Eat something else.
Or.....Starve!!!???

Don't skip breakfast. That's unhealthy. Eat a larger breakfast and a smaller lunch and dinner because you'll likely burn more of those calories during the day than at night. In general I would suggest using this nifty website called Calorie Count. It advises you on what to do and what not to do, and there are a lot of tools to keep track of both eating patterns and exercise patterns. Based on your age, height, and weight it'll suggest a target calorie amount to eat daily. I used it some time ago and it actually does help. About the cravings, I heard a quote once that proves very, very useful. "Food is fuel, not entertainment." Eat when you're hungry and not just when you're bored or emotional or something. Additionally, three bowls of cereal is hardly healthy. There are nutrition facts on the side of food packages for a reason. And about the social events--there are a lot of people with that problem. Try to politely decline a request to go to an event where there is food every once in a while (it's hard to know exactly what you're eating and how good or bad it is), and when you're at one make sure you don't eat too much. I think it'll actually help if you tell some friends or family or whatever about your dieting efforts so they can help you not binge. Some light pressure from them that might make the difference. Don't say people are only fat because of what they eat. Food and exercise go hand in hand. You should definitely at least try some other methods of exercising besides simply walking a lot every day. Crunches, jumping jacks, jogging, the like. About the carbs and chips and whatnot--everything should be consumed and done in moderation. Balance your food like the food pyramid tells you. That's another awesome part about Calorie Count--there's this awesome pie chart thing that analyzes how many carbs you consumed, how much sugar, protein, fat, etc. Don't do fad diets. They usually don't work. Rule yourself by your own diet. From now on when you go to the grocery store limit the junk food you get, because if it's not there you're not going to be able to eat it. And remember, it's always good to eat square meals at home! ^_^ That advice is never wrong.

If you are going to use the sauce you could poke a hole in the lid. Most lids are not stuck on the threads but on the rim by vacuum pressure. If you don't wish to puncture the lid you could try leaving it out of the fridge until it is warm before trying to open it.
The advise about using the triangle pointy end of a can opener might work but you are actually better to use the rounded end for bottle caps and just pry enough to hear the sucking sound as the seal releases. Pry like you were opening an old time pop bottle.

lol... try twisting the jar at the same time as the lid only in the opposite direction, a tea towel round the lid can help as well as it gives you more grip(not always just about strength)...sorry if I'm stating the obvious but I don't think there's a lot more you can do....other than throw the bloomin thing in the bin and make your own sauce!(it'll taste better and its a lot less stressful ;-)).

Please, just throw the jar away and have something else for dinner. It's not work all that aggravation. As soon as you can go out and buy another jar of spaghetti sauce and have your self a fine dinner. Enjoy your day. Good Luck.

Try hitting it on the bottom until it pops.
Try using poking a knife under the lid until it pops.
If it is glass, boil the bottle (make sure you take the paper off).
If it is plastic, but the bottle open.
Good luck!!!!

Buy another jar. They're only like $3 - $4. Or, you could break the jar and pick the glass bits out and take your chances there... but I'm gonna say buy another one.

Put a rubberband underneath where the lid is at.. make sure the rubberband is inside the lid where you can barely see the the rubberband.. As soon as you do that.. try to open it.. it will be alot easier.
