If it is for sex, isn't that just plain stupid? because sex is just fornication to proliferate, so it it is just a contradiction in terms and being on a spiritual plane, you will have no need for physical gratification....Duh!

I don't know the verses you're asking for, but I was watching a documentary a while back where a bunch of Muslim scholars and translation experts were saying that the 72 virgins thing is a mistranslation, and it's most likely 72 goats (which in 7th century Arabia was the equivalent of being rich). @Smurf: That person was ellaborating on the already established notion that it's virgins. If the error started centuries before he wrote that, it makes total sense that he would believe that.... Have some logical thinking man!

I'm not a Muslim, but I have read the Quran (and the Bible, and the Bagavagida (sp)). and I can tell you the 72 virgins is nowhere in there. I have no idea where this bit of propaganda came from, but imagine something like this being spread about your religion. Disgusting, no? So please quit spreading it. It is a lie!

I think it's an important way for religious leaders to control the young men of the religion. Since sex isn't allowed until marriage, if they die before marriage - it gives them something to look forward to so they're not tempted to have sex before marriage? Just a thought.
