from a trucker's wife, no, you are paid by the mile, if you have a longer than usual waiting time to get rid of your load you get an hourly rate for that as well.

Depends on if you are paid by the hour or by the mile. The truck drivers where I work are paid hourly and they do get overtime pay. A lot of trucking companies pay by the mile though, so they would not get overtime pay.

FLSA guidelines - Fair Labor Standards Act - exempts employers from having to pay overtime (premium pay) to commercial drivers. Unless your company has a policy saying that they will still pay overtime, they do not have to pay overtime to truck drivers. Sorry!

if you work hourly you do ,most drivers work per mile so no overtime
