No, the soul is the "anima" that's Latin for "Life." The anima makes the baby alive and it is alive at conception when the cells begin to divide. It is the same for a plant. As soon as a seed is germinated it gains "anima" and begins to grow. Everything living has a soul which is anima or the life force. The human soul is immortal. The soul of animals and plants dies when the plant or animals die. A baby has a soul right from the start inside the womb. This is why life is so precious.

The baby is a soul while in the womb as the mother supplies the breath that is required to combine with the dust to make a living soul.

This is where people feel justified in having abortions. But the Bible says that God knew you even before you were concieved. This means that your soul was already existant. A human is a human upon conception. They can lie to themselves all they want. We lie best when we lie to ourselves. Killing a life given by God is wrong, no matter how you lie to yourself. Do you know that they are trying to make euthanasia legal in Great Britain? That is the act of killing a child after it is born! THAT is the mentality of Planned Parenthood! Evil lives and reigns in this world! How long before the US starts to consider this practice? You women that are killing your children will answer to God for it. And rightly so!

John the baptist recognized Mary and saluted her as a six month fetus from the womb. Luke 1 41. So it seems the baby has a spirit at least by six months.

while i truly don't remember where i heard this.....
God new you before you were concieved, yes, however He does not let the soul leave "heaven" until after the first trimester as too often things can happen with a woman's system. after the three months are up, the child obtains its soul from God.

again, i don't recall where i heard that but remember hearing it as a child.

Ecclesiastes 11:5
As you do not know the way the spirit comes to the bones in the womb of a woman with child, so you do not know the work of God who makes everything.
