It will not be made available for windows 2000 or they would have released this at the same time.

I'm on Windows XP Professional and I'm using Internet Explorer 7 now!
You go to 'update' on microsoft windows site, and it will scan to see what updates your computer needs and also offer it to you.
You should be set to automatic updates anyway, and not need to do this often.
I've had it a couple of weeks now and the only difference I've noticed is in the look, since, it doesn't show the amount of tool bars that I was used to, though you can personalise, i've not bothered yet.
Also, some site I always use, haven't recognised it yet, and tend to guide me to another link, before I reach my target.
Otherwise, it's OK I guess... I'm saving judgement for a while:-)
In answer to Chris B:
IE 7 has been designed for extra security... and it certainly has a lot of other security features in it and hops about making sure nothing can get in, works well with my firewall too.

Windows 2000 is now seen as EOL (End of Life) by Microsoft, they won't really be releasing any software compatible for Windows 2000 any more.
However, Firefox 2.0 works on Windows 2000 and is has very similar features to IE7, I would highly recommend you install it!

I have XP and downloaded IE7 through the Yahoo offer and bitterly regretted doing so. After a week of problems I un-installed it and all the problems disappeared. So, stay with with you've got, IE7 is not ready for general use yet and professional IT companies are advising their clients not to use it until all the kinks have been ironed out.

I had IE7 for a little less than a week and I removed it to go back to 6. You know the upper left hand corner of the screen, where you have pull down windows for file, Edit, View, Favorites, Tools, Help? I couldn't find any of that in IE7. And I simply don't have time to look for it. Why do I need a new browser anyways?

For Windows 2000? - NO. Microsoft made fairly clear that it will not be back-porting beyond XP ... too many adjustments would have to be made

I taught it was available for 2000 and above, and it was windows Exp that offered me the upgrade, through Yahoo, maybe they will offer it to you soon, Or you could add to your question, and see if you can find someone who knows how to download it.

already available google it and go to official microsoft website, if you have a 'noughty' version of windows it wont be available for you unless you download a hacked version from a torrent site
if you have a good version there will be no bugs so it will not harm your computer in anyway and also features tabbed browsing which what makes it so popular (many internet site on one taskbar window)
