when you switch on your computer, quickly press the delete button a few times, then "ctrl" and escape ket at same time a few times, then f1 key, f2 key, f3 key, f4 key, f5 key, f6 key, f7 key, f8 key, f9 key, f10 key, f11 key and then finally f12 key to try to go into the bios settings.
if you managed to get into the bios setup, search for 1st or initial boot device and set it to cdrom drive.
ps: write down the 1st or initial boot device before changing it to cdrom drive.
important: after you have done everything after booting the xp cd, it is better to reboot and go into the bios setup again and set back the 1st or initial boot device to the master hard drive for older bios setup to prevent incidental bootup from any cd still in the cdrom drive.
cheers and good luck!

To enter the bios on a laptop, you sometimes need to check the internet because the methods vary slightly.
